“Open Minds And Open Hearts” Ministry

First United Methodist Church of Southbridge is very excited to the partnership with the Southbridge Schools in two of their school projects.

 Food Pantry

Each month has a food theme.  Canned soups & crackers are the theme for February and March.  FUMC is currently collecting canned soups/crackers for the month of February through March 15.   We learned that a lot of our students go to bed hungry every night.  Our prayers and hopes that the monthly food donations would help our kids and their families take a step forward in their efforts to do well at school.  Can you imagine having lunch at school as your last meal of the day?  Students need to eat in order to do well at school.  “Please help!”

Clothing Closet

We are collecting gently used clothes for K-12. All types of clothing are welcome.  Did you know that some of the kids go to school without, hats, mittens/gloves, socks, underpants, and shoes?  Please note that we will take all types of shoes, but they must be in good conditions and clean.   We ask that items with broken zippers and missing buttons are not to be included in your donations.  Contact us if you have any questions or need more information on these two projects. We welcome all donations.  “The students need us more than ever!”
